Massachusetts will see some rain this week as two tropical weather systems arrive in the region.
First, the Bay State will see the remnants of Fred, now a tropical depression, which will bring rain and potential flooding mainly to the west and north of Massachusetts starting late Wednesday into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
“Humidity will be tropical, so looking at the possibility of downpours,” forecasters wrote. “That said, the best forcing appears that it will remain to our north and west. Still thinking some portions of MA could see 1-2 inches of rainfall, but have shifted the axis farther north and west. As has been the case many times this summer, the Cape and islands may not see much, if any, rainfall at all.”
[Heavy Rain Threat] The remnants of Fred will bring the potential for heavy rainfall very late Wed night into Thu. The greatest risk for heavy rainfall/flooding will be west & southwest of #SNE. However, it is too early to rule out the risk for localized flooding in our region. pic.twitter.com/YRpkpx4m6k

Next, Tropical Storm Henri is forecast to pass “well offshore” over the weekend and bring a low chance of tropical storm-force winds, particularly to Cape Cod and the Islands.
But meteorologists said they can’t yet rule out a “greater impact” to southern New England.
“We are more confident in high surf along ocean beaches and rough seas offshore,” the forecasters said.
What about #TropicalStormHenri?

Latest track remains offshore this weekend but we can't rule out a greater impact for SNE. Note low chance of TS force winds, esp Cape Cod/Islands.
Other possible impacts:

* Rough seas
* Minor coastal flooding pic.twitter.com/8HIhrvltWZ
