It wasn’t too long ago that Mike & Patty’s, the breakfast spot known for its fully-loaded egg sandwiches, announced that it would expand to a new location in Jamaica Plain — its first sit-down eatery.

On Tuesday, M&A Brands, founded by Mike & Patty’s co-owners Ania Zaroda and Michael Gurevich, revealed yet another surprise: The opening of Flourhouse, a new bakery in Newton’s Nonantum Village.

Fans of Mike & Patty’s homemade English muffins will be happy to find the baked goods at Flourhouse, along with torta rolls, everything bagel dinner rolls, parm-chive cruffins, and loaves of sourdough, seven-grain, and gluten-free brioche. On the sweet side, the bakery will offer lemon curd cruffins, kouign-amann, chocolate chip cookies, and more. Ingredients will be sourced locally as much as possible.

“We’ve heard from our guests time and time again that they’d love to purchase our homemade breads, and we’re so excited to finally expand our product offerings and give them just that,” co-owner Michael Gurevich said in a press release.

Flourhouse will celebrate its grand opening with an open house on Sept. 25, inviting customers to stop by between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free samples of breads, pastries, and coffee. Can’t wait that long? The bakery officially opens for pickup on Sept. 23; pre-orders can be placed here. Initially, baked goods will only be available for pickup, with delivery, pop-up menus, and full retail space coming later this year.

M&A Brands currently operates Mike & Patty’s locations in Bay Village and Somerville’s Bow Market, with a third location scheduled to open in Jamaica Plain in late 2021 or early 2022. The brand also owns Hot Box at Bow Market, an eatery serving South Shore-style pizza and North Shore-style roast beef sandwiches.
